Time to select the paint color you want. Before painting, all cabinets must be applied with an odorless oil base stain blocking primer. Apply the putty, wood fill, sand and caulk where these are needed. Apply a satin or semi gloss oil base paint.Have 2 – 3 finish coats sanding in between each coat of paint. It’s now time to replace the doors and hardware. You may consider applying non-yellowish clear polyurethane to the painted surfaces once they have dried for added protection. You can also consider adding small wood moldings to your cabinet doors and drawers and decorative crown moldings at the top for a perfectly new dramatic look for your newly refinished cabinets.
